History
The Ladybird Pre-school opened in 1994 as a community project between three village playgroups and Cottenham Parish Council. The Parish Council provided a new building and the three playgroups amalgamated to form the Ladybird Pre-school. We are an established member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance and have a well-earned reputation for offering high quality childcare. Our emphasis is on friendly interactive education tailored to each individual child’s needs, which in 2009 was recognised by the Nursery World Pre-school of the Year Competition, a national award in which we were the Highly Commended runners up.
Accreditation
The Ladybird Pre-school was awarded accredited status by the Pre-school Learning Alliance in February 2003, and was reaccredited in November 2009. Accreditation helps pre-schools further improve the quality of education and care offered to children under five. The Ladybird Pre-school has been praised in areas such as staff commitment to training and having excellent adult/child interaction. The accreditation scheme is in addition to statutory registration and inspection. The Ladybird Pre-school already offers and aims to continue to offer a caring, stimulating environment for children to develop socially, emotionally and intellectually in preparation for school. Parents can be confident in knowing the Ladybird Pre-school is a first class pre-school meeting the highest standards.
